STS, Cloud – Cloud private/hybrid
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
For STS, one of the most prestigious Jordanian and Middle Eastern technology companies, we contributed to the creation of theirs hybrid Cloud ,providing consultancy on the on-premise and public cloud part.
Thanks to our help, STS customers have access to an IAAS platform with which they can satisfy their infrastructure needs, without having the typical disadvantages of managing a complex Data Center.
Furthermore, thanks to our help, STS can offer their customers the CRM – SAAS (Software As A Service) solution. This solution, based on a customization developed with STS technicians of the most widespread Open Source CRM (SugarCRM), is installed in the STS cloud.

Clickode technicians contributed to the installation of all the IBM hardware and software on premise.
The cloud software, based on IBM and Openstack technology and installed on IBM Power 8 technology, was then configured for integration with the x86 and VMWare part of Cloud on premise. KVM and Openstack were also installed on x86 servers and integrated with the IBM cloud orchestrator. As regards integration with the public cloud, we opted for IBM Softlayer.
An extremely versatile, flexible, secure, easy to use and maintain cloud infrastructure has therefore been created. Let's see why:
- Versatility: It is possible to create Virtual Machines on different architectures such as x86 and Power and on different hypervisors such as PowerVM, KVM, VMWare. It is possible to create Virtual Machines by installing all the major operating systems on the market such as: Linux on x86, Power Linux, AIX, Windows
- Flexibility: Integration with Softlayer allows you to manage the load of your cloud by expanding, if necessary, the resources via the Public Cloud. This allows you to create the so-called Hybrid Cloud , obtaining extreme flexibility in the management of resources towards end customers.
- Security: The heterogeneity of the architecture created allows to obtain different levels of security up to the use of PowerVM : The only Hypervisor in the world without proven vulnerability incidents. This means that the data inside the AIX or Linux on Power virtual machine is perfectly isolated from all the others present in the same Cloud.
- Ease of use and maintenance: The IBM software used allows, thanks to the use of Openstack, to integrate all the management of physical servers and storage through a single interface. Furthermore, with a single set of APIs it is possible to govern the entire infrastructure using simple scripts that allow unprecedented management automation.
SugarCRM Community Edition was then installed on this infrastructure and a series of plugins were integrated in order to customize the product for STS's needs.
SugarCRM was installed in Cluster HA on SUSE PowerLinux .
